Storebrand Asset Management is a leading player in the Nordic market and a pioneer within the field of sustainable investments. We have been at the forefront of sustainable investing since the mid 1990s and are one of the founding signatories of the PRI.

 


Storebrand Asset Management

Storebrand Asset Management (SAM) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Storebrand ASA, which is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (ticker STB). The Storebrand Group (Storebrand) dates back to 1767 and is a leading player in the Nordic market for long-term savings and insurance.

SAM launched in 1981 (investment management had previously been a division within Storebrand’s life insurance business) and it is now the largest private asset manager in Norway, providing a broad range of investment services to over 250 institutional clients in the Nordic region, predominately in Norway and Sweden.
 

Sustainability at Scale

At the end of 2019, Storebrand Asset Management managed approximately EUR 83 bn / GBP 70 bn allocated between funds as well as discretionary and segregated portfolios of equities, fixed income, real estate and private equity investments. The assets are managed on behalf of pension funds, insurance companies, foundations, fund management companies and public sector bodies as well as private investors. Storebrand Asset Management also manages a full range of pensions and savings products for other parts of the Storebrand Group, including the investment portfolio of the life insurance company.

Storebrand offers life insurance and fund management in Sweden through its acquisition of the Swedish life insurance and pensions provider SPP in December 2007. Storebrand acquired SKAGEN Funds in December 2017.
